Oregon Baseball: Ducks Extend George Horton Through 2020 Season

Despite a lackluster finish to the 2016 season and attendance trending down, the Oregon Ducks extended the contract of Head Coach George Horton on Tuesday.

The new deal was rumored a few months back and was finally completed with both sides agreeing that Horton would remain Head Coach at Oregon through the 2020 season giving him enough time for another turnaround. Last season the team failed to make the NCAA Tournament, but since the return of the program in 2010, Horton has had success taking the team to the postseason five times.

The upcoming recruiting class should help reload a depleted Pitching Staff that saw the departure of David Peterson to the New York Mets in the MLB Draft.
