Igor Kokoskov is coaching the Suns like he’s going to still be coaching them after Tuesday’s season finale at Dallas.
“Coach said we have to take this game more seriously, be professionals about it, and learn about it,” said Dragan Bender after Sunday night’s 149-113 loss at Houston. “We had a lot of areas where we can improve ourselves, especially on defense.”
The Suns (19-61) are already assured of their second-worst record in franchise history. The worst came in their first NBA season in 1968-69 when going 16-66.
Before Friday’s home finale against New Orleans, which the Suns won in overtime, Kokoskov was asked to reflect his first season as an NBA head coach.
