EUGENE, Ore. - As it turns out, Tobi Amusan's spectacular freshman year had an even more spectacular finish at the NCAA Track and Field Championships.
Seeded eighth in the eight-person 100-meter hurdles final after taking fourth in her semifinal heat, sitting in an impressive fourth place heading into the penultimate hurdle, Amusan rallied past two other runners to cross the line in second.
She set an all-conditions personal best of 12.79 to nip a pack of runners behind winner Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Kentucky (12.54) in the wind-aided race. Get used to those names: Amusan and Camacho-Quinn were the only freshmen in the field.
