RUIDOSO, N.M. — Of every position on the UTEP football team, none has been remade more since spring than the tight end corps.
That was always likely, as the University of Texas at El Paso regularly enters a season stocked at a position it utilizes more than most, but it's still striking.
First, the unit got back its star, Hayden Plinke, who was as good as they come in Conference USA last year but missed the spring to injury. Then they added Kent Taylor, Kansas' leading pass catcher at tight end last season, who transferred because he wanted to be part of an offense that uses the position more.
