The big statistical development of UTEP's game at Florida Atlantic was Aaron Jones setting the school rushing record, as his 229 yards Saturday give him 3,728. He will be the Miners' honorary captain against Rice.
"I want to congratulate him," coach Sean Kugler said at his Monday news conference. "He became the all-time leading rusher and he did it in big fashion. He's a great player and an even better person."
UTEP, however, fell to 13-7-1 all-time when it has a 200-yard rusher.
