Junior Kavika Johnson's change from quarterback to receiver was one of the big moves of spring and it proved a productive one.
On UTEP's opening drive of the spring game on Friday, Johnson caught passes from Ryan Metz on three of the first four plays and finished with four catches for 29 yards.
"It went well," Johnson said. "'It's been a little bit of a transition, it's a little different, but I love it. (Receivers coach Chuck) Veliz did a great job helping me understand it all.
