The UTEP women's basketball team has enough depth and enough weapons to win games many different ways.
In a 72-64 thriller over Southern Miss on Thursday that was probably a bit harder than the form chart said it was supposed to be, the Miners pulled it out late in the most traditional way that they win games: Their best players were their best players and their defense dominated late.
Led by the familiar duo of Jenzel Nash and Cameasha Turner, with scoring help from Starr Breedlove and Sparkle Taylor and some timely rebounds from Chrishauna Parker, UTEP used a late 9-1 run to weather shorthanded Southern Miss' best shot.
