UTTEP, working hard through August two-a-days, will get a taste of game action Saturday at 1 p.m. when Western New Mexico visits Memorial Gym.
The exhibition game is free to the public.
The Miners and head coach Holly Watts have been working toward the true beginning of their season, a visit to San Antonio where they will face Tulane Aug. 25, then Louisiana-Lafayette and host Incarnate Word on Saturday, Aug. 26.
UTEP will be led by sophomores Macey Austin and Briana Arellano, junior Kylie Baumgartner and senior setter Amanda King.
The 6-foot Austin had a team-high 280 kills a year ago as a freshman.
