In the immediate aftermath of the complete offensive collapse against Southern Miss — a game where UTEP got a third of its yards and all of its points on the second possession of a dispiriting 34-7 loss; a game where the Miners ran the ball up the middle on almost every first down and most of the second downs — coach Sean Kugler offered a glimpse of how to fix things going forward.
"When you're struggling, you need to go back to basics," he said. "You go bare minimum. Maybe there is too much on their plate. We need to evaluate.
