Miners lose starting nosetackle before first game

Rudy Gutierrez / El Paso Times

UTEP got some bad news nearing the eve of its game with No. 7 Oklahoma, as sophomore nosetackle Chris Richardson, who started the final two games of last season and throughout camp, was declared academically ineligible. He will remain with the team and practice throughout the season.

That means true freshman Trace Mascorro will get a start in his first collegiate game. Senior veteran Sky Logan will be his backup.

Juggling RBs

While Oklahoma released a depth chart on Wednesday, it didn't shed much light on what they are going to do at their big offensive question mark, running back.
