Miners turn back CSUB, 74-61

The UTEP women's basketball team is young, but through two months of growing, they have become veterans at handling adversity.

In a tense start to the fourth quarter Wednesday against Cal State-Bakersfield, when a 13-point lead dwindled down to two and the Roadrunners had all the momentum, the Miners took all their lessons and turned them into something tangible.

When no field goals were falling, junior Tamara Seda began attacking the boards, turning her teammates' missed shots into free throws, UTEP went on a lightning quick 11-1 run, then made more free throws to get home with a 74-61 win.
