A rock-solid two days of work for UTEP heptathlete Lucia Mokrasova wasn't quite enough to win the Conference USA title she was favored to take.

Despite a mark of 5,571 points that was just off her school record of 5,615, she came up 28 points short of Middle Tennessee's Elizabeth Dadzie's huge personal best and settled for the silver medal.

UTEP's Rebecca Oshinbanjo finished seventh with 4,844 points to add two points to the Miners' team total.

UTEP also gained some points in the 10,000, where Gladys Jerotich finished fifth on the women's side in her first 10,000 in 35 minutes, 36.
