UTEP was in shorts for Monday's spring practice, and some tackles during a team segment that wasn't supposed to have tackling set coach Sean Kugler off in the post-practice team huddle.
On the whole, though, he did like the intensity.
"It was a good practice, we got some situation work done, red zone, zone read work," Kugler said.
The highlight by far was a diving catch on a bomb by Warren Redix, who has been working with the first team all spring.
"That was definitely the most yardage (of the spring), the most difficult one too," Redix said.
