Game one was a train wreck and game two was a little better.
The University of Missouri, ranked 15th in the nation, run-ruled UTEP twice on a beautiful Monday at Helen of Troy Field, taking the first game 15-4 and blanking the Miners 10-0 in the second game.
The Miners had a few highlights in each game and hit the ball well all day – despite getting shut out in game two. UTEP, coming off a three-game sweep of Conference USA opponent Louisiana Tech over the weekend, and facing FIU next weekend in Miami, did not use top pitcher Danielle Pearson and only used its other top pitcher Kaitlin Fifield three innings in the second game.
