New Mexico State and UTEP are chasing championships in their respective conferences.
On a beautiful cloudless, windless Tuesday evening they took a break from those chases and renewed a rivalry. New Mexico State will sail on toward the Western Athletic Conference championship, and the Miners must regroup before going after the Conference USA West crown.
The Aggies pounded out 13 hits and took a resounding 12-0 run-rule victory over the Miners on Tuesday at Helen of Troy Field.
For the Aggies, the defending WAC champions, it was merely more of the same as they improved to 29-19 on the season.
