Aaron Jones had another special night for UTEP, continuing his assault in school record books after gaining 123 yards on 18 carries in two and a half quarters before getting the rest of the night off.
He now has 2,713 career yards for fourth all-time, passing Toraino Singleton (2,635 yards from 1994-95) and Marcus Thomas (2,615 from 2004-07). Next up is Robert Elliott (2,834 from 1974-77). The record holder is John Harvey (3,576 from 1985-88).
"Aaron Jones showed what he can do," coach Sean Kugler said. "It didn't make sense to get Aaron Jones injured in a game that didn't mean anything at that point.
