UTEP hasn't had many opportunities for big plays in the kicking game since the opener against New Mexico State, but the Miners are optimistic that can change Saturday against Old Dominion.
Most notably, ODU has had three extra points and a punt blocked this year, is using a new freshman kicker Brad Davis, and UTEP devoted extra practice time with the kick-block unit this week.
"That's something we really want to focus in on and try to take advantage of," UTEP coach Sean Kugler said.
Another goal will be to try to get chances for punt returner Terry Juniel.
