UTEP punter Alan Luna has been named a 2016 Ray Guy Award nominee for the second consecutive year. The Ray Guy Award identifies the nation’s top collegiate punter and Luna is one of 66 finalists.
The Franklin graduate ranks third in Conference USA and 30th nationally in punting average at 43.3 y ards per attempt. Luna punted four times for an average of 50.0 yards against Old Dominion Saturday, including two punts that were downed inside the 20-yard line. He was named the team's Top Gun that goes to the best special teamer.
"He was outstanding," coach Sean Kugler said.
