An area of focus for the UTEP football team moving forward is to get more pressure on quarterbacks, as the Miners are 12th out of 13 teams in Conference USA with just five sacks.
"We're looking at some young guys on defense to generate more pass rush with the defensive line," coach Sean Kugler said. "It will be guys like Gene Hopkins, Foster Dixon, Christian Richardson, big Denzel (Chukwukelu). You'll see fresher faces out there."
Richardson and offensive lineman Ruben Guerra have both been promoted to the traveling roster for this week's game with UTSA.

As always, the bye week served as a major recruiting weekend for UTEP as all the coaches hit the road.
