The book on UTEP tailbacks is short and simple. It can be summed up in two words.
They are talented, they are raw.
The idea in a season opener is that the talent, and the potential revealed by it, trumps the lack of experience, and indeed, Walter Dawn and Kevin Dove showed they can do big things as the season progresses. UTEP probably won't get every yard of Aaron Jones' record-breaking production from last year, but Dawn and Dove showed they can be capable replacements.
