Varsity football is only going to get harder for Pebble Hills following a program-christening thumping of Irvin Thursday.
There will be nights where the Spartans don't make everything look so crisp and smooth as they did in a superb first half.
That actually became apparent when Pebble Hills' first-ever varsity halftime was extended by its first-ever hour-long lightning delay.
The Spartans eventually left Northeast El Paso with 34-6 victory over the Rockets.
This much was hard to deny, though, on a night when Pebble Hills was dominant rushing, passing and defending: A Spartan team without a senior on the roster is going to be good, and they are going to be good quickly.
