For UTEP tight end Hayden Plinke that was almost a hope, and now he and his Miner teammate, outside linebacker Nick Usher are headed to the Seattle Seahawks on free agent training camp contracts. Fullback Darrin Laufasa, meanwhile, agreed to terms with Cincinnati while Coronado alum Cole Freytag, who led the team in receiving yards last year, earned a tryout with Tampa Bay.

For Plinke, it almost counts as heading home, as he is from Portland.
