Fifty weeks ago, newly minted North Texas football coach Seth Littrell, in pretty much his first act ever as a head football coach, stood at a dais in Denton and said the goal for the Mean Green was to win a bowl this season.
Given that he was there in part because UNT went 1-11 last year, well, he knew what impression he was giving.
"I guess some people thought I was crazy," Littrell said.
If they did, they don't any more.
A year removed from being one of the worst teams in the FBS by any measure, 5-6 North Texas needs to win as a three-points favorite Saturday afternoon in the Sun Bowl to get into the postseason.
