Forest McKee's goal is to step right in to the UTEP offense and replace a four-year running back starter, one who himself stepped right in to the Miner offense in 2013 and is now in the NFL.
There is an extra sense of urgency for the local product because there aren't a huge number of options there, certainly not experienced options.
When UTEP rolls into Ruidoso in August, McKee's task of replacing Darrin Laufasa at the fullback spot won't get the headlines that the battle to replace Aaron Jones at tailback will, but whoever does become the starting tailback will have an easier go of it with a good fullback in front of them.
