RUIDOSO, N.M. — UTEP is designed to be a run-first football team. They're built to hammer away with Aaron Jones and a pounding offensive line, but as last season showed, they need Plan B's, too.
They need to become more explosive on the outside, and for the first time in the Sean Kugler era, there's a feeling they are heading that way.
That starts with returning last season's top three receivers, but they've also added some key pieces and just three days into camp seem to be improving from within. This is all in the context of a new offense from offensive coordinator Brent Pease that promised to be more diverse.
