As the calendar hits late October, the UTEP football team is sorting through an issue most teams settle in August.
The Miners are looking for a starting quarterback.
Ryan Metz, who has started four of the seven games this season, and Zack Greenlee, who started the last three, have regained their health, and Tuesday began a quick battle to see who will get the nod Saturday against UTSA.
Metz was taking the first-team reps throughout practice until the final team session, when Greenlee came out with the first team. Most importantly, the two were taking reasonably equal reps.
