UTEP has been here before, most recently in the middle of last season.
"Here" is a bad place to be, in this case coming off a 66-14 loss to Army that was as complete a drubbing as the score says it was. Less than a year ago, it was an uncompetitive 52-12 loss to Florida International that dropped UTEP to 2-4 and left the season in chaos. Two of the next three games were Miner wins as they made an improbable run at a bowl.
This UTEP team, sitting at 1-2, is far healthier than that one.
