Those were the traits, along with some timely play from Sparkle Taylor in the final two minutes, that saved the Miners in a 62-55 victory over a UTSA team long on heart and will but ultimately short on offensive punch.
"We got through it," UTEP coach Keitha Adams said after her team improved to 14-1 and stayed atop Conference USA at 5-0. "It was an ugly one, just an ugly win. We grinded it out.
