The 12th-ranked UTEP men's cross country team finished sixth Saturday in the prestigious NCAA Pre-National Meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
Fourth-ranked Oregon won the meet with 85 points. Fifth-ranked Arkansas was second and sixth-ranked Colorado was third. No. 20 Michigan was fourth, 13th-ranked Indiana was fifth and the Miners were sixth, just three points shy of Indiana.
Senior Cosmas Boit led the Miners individually, finishing the eight kilometer race in ninth place with a time of 24:12. Sophomore Anthony Kosgei was right behind in 10th with a time of 24:13.1. Freshman Michael Saruni was 32nd in the 263-runner field.
