It was a bit closer, perhaps, than it should have been. And it was most certainly closer than UTEP would have liked.
But there are no style points in basketball. A win is a win is a win and the Miners got just that on this first Saturday in March, knocking off a pesky UTSA team 81-74 in front of 7,430 fans in the Don Haskins Center.
The Miners finished the regular season at 18-13 and tie a bow around the Conference USA regular season with a 10-8 mark. UTSA tumbled to 5-26 on the season and 3-15 in conference play .
