No one enjoys a painful season, but UTEP women's basketball coach Keitha Adams makes sure to get maximum mileage out of them when they happen.
She's used last season's 12-16 mark as a motivator, knowing she isn't going to get a similar chance next year, and Sunday on national television, UTEP gets a particularly big dose of incentive.
The opponent is the University of Alabama at Birmingham, one of only two teams to sweep a pair of games against the Miners last year (next week's opponent the University of Texas at San Antonio is the other) and the one that ended their season in the Conference USA tournament.
