In an anonymous gym in Indiana four years ago, in an anonymous club tournament game too early in the morning for any college recruiter to have significant expectations — and there was only one there anyway — UTEP basketball coach Keitha Adams saw something so extraordinary she still loves to retell it.
Her attention kept being drawn to a young woman from Dallas, a senior-to-be from Lincoln High named Cameasha Turner, the one person on the floor who looked, acted and played like she was in Game 7 of an NBA Finals.
"Her passion was something that drew me to her," Adams said.
