Saturday was all about qualifying, all about getting into position to make a run at a championship.
And the UTEP women's track and field team did exactly that.
Middle Tennessee leads the Conference USA Women's Track and Field Championship with 47 points going into Sunday's final day at UTEP's Kidd Field. But the Miners are but three heartbeats back with 44 points. Rice has 39, Charlotte 36.5, Western Kentucky 22 and Southern Miss is sixth in the 13 team field with 16 points.
