WSU rematch with ASU postponed amidst Cougars’ COVID issues

The Washington State Cougars’ game with Arizona State today was postponed this morning after developments in WSU’s COVID-19 protocol.

Specifics are not yet available — and might never be — but it we know this: The positive test and/or contact tracing and existing injuries were extensive enough to deplete WSU’s roster to the point that the game could not be played today.

It is interesting to note that the school used the word “postponed” rather than “canceled”; the school is not ruling out playing the game in Las Vegas — where the Pac-12 Tournament will be held — before the tournament commences on March 10.
