After a year and half on the sideline, the return to action didn’t exactly go as planned for Washington State soccer.
Following up their surprise run to the College Cup semifinal, the Cougs went just 6-3-3 in the unique spring schedule earlier this year. The three losses all came in a 2 week stretch, and all came against top 25 teams. What may have hurt more than the losses, were the canceled contests. Because of COVID-19 issues, the team had four consecutive games called off in early March and never really got back on track after that.
The bad news is that WSU’s postseason streak came to an end.
